Changing Approaches to Design.

ARUP Phase 2 Gallery London. November 2018 - March 2019

Vlad Tenu has participated with 3 works in the exhibition entitled PLUG-IN-TOTHE-FUTURE. Changing approaches to design at ARUP Phase2 Gallery. The exhibition contains a re-configured modular pavilion made of MINIPLEX 1.0, a modular sculpture sample of the aluminium version of MINIPLEX 2.0, as well as the acclaimed Swarovski crystal dress FORÆVA by Lana Dumitru & Vlad Tenu.

Curated by Jennifer Greitschus, ‘the exhibition showcases relatively early examples of generative design and bubble matrix geometries from 2008, used both for design of the Beijing National Aquatics Center and artist Antony Gormley’s Dublin Project Model2, Lana Dumitru & Vlad Tenu’s Swarovski crystal dress Foræva (2017) and Nervous System’s running shoes with 3D printed midsoles (2015) demonstrate processes usually associated with engineering.‘ ARUP. The exhibition also contains pieces by designers Beat Karrer, Stefan Borselius, Manuel Kretzer as well as open-source projects such as a prototype of the WikiHouse, SPACE10’S Growroom and furniture by Opendesk.
